Every horse is at risk of parasites that can threaten its health with organ damage, respiratory problems and even colic. It’s important to treat your horse regularly with a broad-spectrum dewormer such as an EQVALAN® (ivermectin) Brand Product, available from your equine veterinarian. Merial backs every EQVALAN Brand Product with a 100% Product Satisfaction Guarantee.
Your strategic parasite control program should pay particular attention to mares, foals and yearlings. To create a comprehensive deworming plan specifically for your horse, consult your veterinarian. Foals can be treated initially with EQVALAN at 6 to 8 weeks of age. Repeat routine treatment as appropriate. EQVALAN is safe enough that it can be used in horses of all ages, including mares at any stage of pregnancy. Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.1
Each syringe contains sufficient paste to treat one 1,250-pound horse at the recommended dose rate of 91 mcg ivermectin per pound (200 mcg/kg) body weight. Each weight marking on the syringe plunger delivers enough paste to treat 250 pounds of body weight.1
